In a local interview, he added: “I think that it is necessary to analize the industry and look at it from a public policy point of view that considers how much will the casino expand in the country”.
Regarding his concern due to casino proliferation in the island, he commented that if casino installation increases, the profit will decrease, because this is a fixed market and it does not grow.
The same as ex director of Games of Chance Division of the Tourism Company, Guillermo Cabrés, Padilla estimated that an 80% of the registered plays in casinos belong to Puerto Ricans. He also commented that, from the 19 casinos that currently operate in the island, six are operated by individuals or Puerto Rican companies.
