IGWB's Top Three were the pinnacle of larger Top 20 list selected by a panel of independent judges on what the magazine calls the basis of “innovation, efficiency, ease of use, end-user value, adaptation/integration, long-term value and revenue potential.”
GSA Chairman Lyle Bell said, “The international members of our G2S committee have yet another reason to be very proud of their work on this protocol. G2S will have a global impact, and it is very fitting that the protocol be honored by IGWB. We are very honored with this recognition.”
G2S is a standardized communication protocol enabling secure communications between gaming devices and systems. It integrates GSA's BOB and IGT's SuperSAS protocols. The new protocol features important elements that existed neither in BOB nor in SuperSAS. It is the result of years of collaborative work between worldwide gaming manufacturers, suppliers and operators.
G2S will allow the industry to migrate to downloadable games and other new technology, such as client/server games, while still maintaining the games of today, well into the future. The protocol is now available for download at GSA’s website, www.gamingstandards.com, and GSA will be discussing G2S in its stand at ICE, number 3026.
