UAE Lottery marks first anniversary after awarding $40 million in prizes

The UAE Lottery marked its first anniversary in November, having distributed more than AED 147 million ($40.03 million) to over 100,000 players during its inaugural year. This includes a record AED 100 million ($27.23 million) Grand Prize, which ranked among the largest lottery payouts in the UAE and the wider MENA region.

The country’s first regulated lottery marked the milestone after crowning five millionaires, awarding 233 prizes of AED 100,000 across Lucky Day, Lucky Chance and Scratch Card games, and celebrating a historic AED 100 million Grand Prize. The platform has quickly become a source of excitement and anticipation for players nationwide.

Scott Burton, Commercial Gaming Director at The UAE Lottery, said the first year had demonstrated the platform’s broad appeal. “Our first year proved just how exciting and rewarding The UAE Lottery can be, with unforgettable wins and incredible stories from players across the UAE,” he said. “The trust, enthusiasm, and remarkable moments we’ve witnessed define the experience we’re proud to offer today.”

During its first year, the lottery expanded its portfolio to more than 20 gaming experiences, including the flagship Lucky Day Draw, daily games such as Pick 3, Pick 4 and Color Prediction, and a wide range of scratch cards and e-instant games, some priced from AED 1. Scratch cards alone have produced five AED 1 million top-prize winners so far.

As it enters its second year, The UAE Lottery plans new game launches, enhanced digital features, and refreshed prize structures to increase engagement while maintaining its focus on fairness, safety, and innovation.
