Sightline Payments and Marker Trax have entered into an exclusive partnership to offer a credit option within Sightline’s Play+ mobile app payment solution for legal, regulated sports betting and online casino markets.
Play+ Markers will allow consumers to fund their gaming accounts using Marker Trax’s patented credit options. Incorporating advanced analytics and key insights into consumers’ gaming behaviors enables Marker Trax to help casino operators set credit limits that protect players from overspending. Play+ Markers will use real-time data to determine the appropriate limit to extend to a player, ranging from $100 up to the maximum allowed by a given jurisdiction.
This new funding source will be available for Play+ users starting with the kickoff of the 2021 professional football season in September. Marker Trax is fully integrated into Konami’s Money Klip solution with plans to integrate into other major casino management systems later this year.
“The key to drawing consumers into the legal, regulated sports betting market is offering them the same conveniences that, until now, were not available to anyone in a legal setting," said Sightline CEO, Joe Pappano. "This new partnership with Marker Trax will enable Sightline to offer credit wagering options in the legal, regulated market for the first time. Play+’s built-in responsible gaming safeguards will ensure that consumers are able to wager in a safe manner, including special features that help them control how much they spend and how long they play.”
“The illegal sports betting market brings in $150 billion annually, mostly fueled by unregulated credit,” said Charlie Skinner, COO of Marker Trax. “The Sightline-Marker Trax partnership will arm licensed U.S. operators with regulated credit offerings to finally compete on a level playing field.”
Casino markers are currently utilized at brick-and-mortar facilities in 16 states. Sightline’s 1.5 million Play+ accounts will be able to wager with Play+ Markers in jurisdictions that allow credit funding for gaming. Patrons who choose to utilize this funding option will continue to have the same responsible gaming tools—including time limits, win/loss statements, deposit and spending options, resources to help those struggling, and more—that they currently utilize across the 70+ partners that offer Play+ as a funding source today.
