He replaces Thomas P. Burke, who was promoted to Senior VP for Regional Operations for Wyomissing-based Penn that operates 19 casinos.
Patel currently is Executive Vice President and Assistant General Manager of Penn’s Charles Town Races & Slots facility in Charles Town, West Virginia. He said Wednesday he is stepping into “a successful property that is known for its product and great service. “What I intend to do is incrementally add value to a property that is already doing extremely well…and take it to the next level.”
Patel joined Penn in 2001 and has nearly 20 years of regional and major market casino resort experience in senior management positions including with Sun International including as a Vice President for casino administration over the Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas, and at the Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut.
Patel also held senior management post at Resorts Casino Hotel, Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino and Sands Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City. He also is a former director at Hemmeter Enterprises, which owned and operated casinos in Colorado, Louisiana and Acapulco, Mexico.
