FOX Bet Sportsbook, PokerStars and Stars Casino launch in Michigan

Flutter Entertainment-owned FOX Bet, PokerStars, and Stars Casino announced on Friday the launch of an array of real money online gaming and betting products in Michigan. From sports betting to poker, blackjack and much more, the in-app experience and shared wallet provides consumers with a variety of ways to play and engage, revolutionizing the fan experience.

Online poker operator PokerStars grants Michiganders access to its suite of daily tournaments, its famed COOP (Championship of Online Poker) series, and much more. From short, fast-paced online poker cash-games to major Sunday tournaments with large prizes, real and play money games are available around the clock on PokerStars' platform. In addition to paving the way with the world's largest online poker site, FOX Bet Sportsbook and Stars Casino round out a powerful trifecta that will enhance the sports, poker and online betting experience in Michigan.

Michigan marks the fourth state launch for FOX Bet, which is also available in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Colorado. In similar fashion to its strong market share in Pennsylvania, FOX Bet Michigan will leverage poker and activate a strong local FOX presence in the state.

Michigan Recently Launched Online Market

Richard Kalm, the executive director of the Michigan Gaming Control Board, also announced these launches on Friday.

"We welcome the addition of Odawa Casino, Poker Stars, Fox Bet and Barstool Casino to Michigan's growing online gaming and sports wagering market," he said in a statement. "Their participation will generate revenue to support education, tribal communities and the city of Detroit."

 He noted that Odawa Casino and Poker Stars will be the first in the state to offer peer-to-peer poker games online. "A law permitting multi-jurisdictional poker recently was signed in Michigan, but is not yet in effect and cannot begin until agreements are negotiated with other states," according to MGCB.

Odawa and Greektown will be the ninth and 10th casinos, respectively, to offer both online gaming and sports betting in the state. The other operators and platform providers are:

• Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, Wynn
• The Lac Vieux Desert Tribe and its provider, PointsBet, may offer online sports betting only.

Last week's launch generated what industry analysts, operators and platform providers described as massive interest from fans, fueling expectations that Michigan will grow to become one of the country's largest markets for legal online gambling, Detroit News reports.

MGCB will report January revenue for the two forms of gambling next month.
