Enjoy concluded its operations in Isla de San Andrés, Colombia, which had started in February 2016. The reasons for the decision have to do with differences between the business projected by Enjoy and the actual development of the gaming industry on the island.
In that regard, Enjoy general manager Gerardo Cood, pointed out: "When we made the decision to arrive in Colombia, we did a small investment, with 70 machines and nine gaming tables. However, even though it is a very attractive tourist destination, visitors usually seek for other types of entertainment.”
The executive acknowledged the work conducted on the island, supported by Decameron, that in a reduced period of time “managed to reflect Enjoy’s experience thanks to a good working team which was able to create great experiences for each visitor”
Moreover, he highlighted the work developed by Coljuegos to take Colombian casino industry to the highest level and acknowledged the different authorities involved in boosting Isla San Andrés as a tourist attraction at a national level.
Gerardo Cood also added that after the results of Chile’s licensing process, Enjoy is going to focus its resources and energy on Coquimbo, Viña del Mar, Pucón and Puerto Varas. "We have started a new phase in our journey towards regional development and we are focused on going ahead with a plan that will consolidate Enjoy as a referent for the gaming industry."
