Google Play to allow gambling apps
According to the media, Google has been emailing gambling firms and app developers including Andrew Daniels, managing director of UK based tech company Degree 53, confirming the new changes in the legislation.
Daniels said requests for gambling application sales on the Google Play store will be accepted since August 2017.
To obtain a permission, developers should provide application documents, including licenses for operations in regions where they want to promote their own products. The procedure will be more likely conducted as well as it has been with Apple.
Apple has previously allowed real money gambling apps available in their app store, though under stringent rules laid out in their App Store Review Guidelines.
"As part of our continued effort to offer new experiences on Google Play, we’re experimenting with rolling out real money gambling apps in select markets over the next few weeks that ensures user safety and complies with local laws," pointed out a spokeperson from Google.
Initially, the service will be available only for UK, France and Ireland, but other countries may join later.
