New Jersey has asked the court to hear arguments in favor of legalizing sports betting. But the court in January decided it wanted to hear what the Trump administration wants to do. In May, the Trump administration’s acting solicitor general argued against New Jersey’s move to repeal its state sports betting laws.

During his appearance as a guest on New York radio station WFAN’s ”Boomer and Carton” program, Christie blasted the federal government's double standard on marijuana and said the federal government has been inconsistent in its application of legal standards.
"They pick and choose," the New Jersey governor said. "For instance, the Obama administration said it was OK to legalize recreational marijuana even though marijuana is still illegal on federal level, but the Obama administration said 'No' on gambling."
