Maryland gambling revenue soars in August

Maryland's casino revenue supports the Maryland Education Trust Fund, local impact grants, local jurisdictions, the state’s horse racing industry and the Maryland General Fund.

The Lottery and Gaming Commission official report shows that Maryland’s six casinos totaled USD 137.4M in revenue during last month compared to the USD 100.3 collected last year.

MGM National Harbor generated $52,875,808 from both slot machines and table games in August. Gross gaming revenue per unit per day in August at MGM National Harbor was: $281.82 for slot machines, $5,934.89 for banked table games and $1,520.81 for non-banked table games. MGM National Harbor operates 3,117 slot machines and 168 (129 banked and 39 non-banked) table games.

Maryland Live Casino totaled $44,758,070 from both slot machines and table games in August. Maryland Live’s gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: $241.28 for slot machines, $3,330.98 for banked table games and $849.39 for non-banked table games. August 2017 revenue at Maryland Live decreased by $11,146,701, or 19.9%, from August 2016. Maryland Live Casino operates 3,891 slot machines and 190 (138 banked and 52 non-banked) table games.

Horseshoe Casino Baltimore generated $21,821,701 from both slot machines and table games in August. Gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: $187.29 for slot machines, $1,808.41 for banked table games and $571.84 for non-banked table games. Horseshoe Casino’s August 2017 revenue decreased by $5,894,440, or 21.3%, from August 2016. Horseshoe Casino Baltimore operates 2,202 slot machines and 178 (153 banked and 25 non-banked) table games.

Hollywood Casino Perryville generated $6,252,793 from both slot machines and table games in August. Gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: $212.91 for slot machines, $1,794.58 for banked table games and $410.71 for non-banked table games. Hollywood Casino’s August 2017 revenue increased by $319,196, or 5.4%, from August 2016. Hollywood Casino Perryville operates 822 slot machines and 21 (13 banked and 8 non-banked) table games.

Casino at Ocean Downs generated $6,943,580 from slot machines in August, and its gross gaming revenue per unit per day was $279.82. Casino at Ocean Downs’ August 2017 revenue increased by $740,379, or 11.9%, from August 2016. Casino at Ocean Downs operates 800 slot machines and does not have table games.

Rocky Gap Casino Resort generated $4,828,080 from both slot machines and table games in August. Gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: $191.83 for slot machines and $1,648.53 for banked table games. This facility does not have non-banked table games. Rocky Gap Casino Resort’s August 2017 revenue increased by $276,263, or 6.1%, from August 2016. Rocky Gap Casino Resort operates 665 slot machines and 17 banked table games.
