(US).- To address a concerning increase of piracy in the gaming industry, the major players of the industry have come together to form a Gaming Industry Piracy Alliance (GIPA), providing a structure through which members can jointly participate in the enforcement of intellectual property rights and other antipiracy activities and initiatives.

Nevada´s August gambling revenue fell 8.1 %
(US).- Nevada casinos won us$ 934.1 million from gamblers in August, an 8.1 % decrease from a year earlier, the state’s Gaming Control Board said this week. The take for casinos along the Las Vegas Strip - the heart of Nevada’s casino industry - fell 7.4 % to us$ 494 million for the month.
