(Norway).- In Norway, the District Court of Oslo has thrown out a bid from British bookmaker Ladbrokes that would have challenged the nation’s online gambling monopoly.

(Spain).- Betbull bwin España, the Spanish joint venture company formed last year between Betbull and bwin Interactive Entertainment, has finally secured a retail betting license in the province of Madrid.

(Bulgaria).- The new Bulgarian trade show was used as a launch pad for Alfastreet’s latest multiplayer automated table game, Texas Hold ’Em, a game which the company feels has not been marketed in Europe as well as might be expected.

(Czech Republic).- The Czech Republic’s oldest and biggest lottery operator, Sazka, has announced plans to launch a new play-for-fun online casino ahead of proposed law changes it hopes will legalize Internet gaming.

(Germany).- Toto-Lotto Niedersachsen, the state lottery of Lower Saxony, has been told that it can no longer advertise its products via the internet by the Higher Regional Court of Oldenburg. The verdict cites the German State Treaty on Gambling which prohibits advertising of gambling over the Internet and television.

(Bulgaria).- Casino Technology has a new board of three directors, comprising Sonia Nikolova, Derek Russan and Ivan Tzankarsky. Together, the team has more than 50 years’ experience in the gaming industry.

(Hungary).- The Federation Internationale de Poker Association (FIDPA) officially announces the endorsement of Clarion Gaming’s 2008 World Poker Congress (WPC). The third annual World Poker Congress is scheduled to take place in Budapest, Hungary, on October 29-30, 2008.
