(US).- SHFL entertainment announced it has established an agreement with video-streamed live dealer gaming provider Evolution Gaming, based in Riga, Latvia. Under the agreement, Evolution will receive the rights to offer many of SHFL's specialty table game titles in its online live casinos.

(US). - A bill to legalize online poker was passed unanimously by lawmakers and signed the same day by Governor Brian Sandoval. The legislature also tightened requirements on slots parlors and put a halt to sports betting kiosks. The entire process, from hearing to signature, took seven hours. Sandoval declared it a “historic day.”

(US).- According to Todd Eilers’ quarterly Key Performance Indicators, slot machine sales in North America rose 40.3 % in the first quarter over last year to 29,174 games and 32.3 % over the fourth quarter. IGT has the lion’s share of the sales at 38 %, which was 2 % above its trailing 12-month average.

(US).- Zynga informed that it will cut approximately 520 employees, or 18 % of the company's global staff, in a cost-cutting move. The company will also close various offices, saving an estimated us$70 - us$80 million in "pre-tax annualized cash expense savings.”

(US).- Gilbraltar-based Bwin.party is moving forward with licensing in Nevada to operate Internet poker websites with MGM Resorts International and Boyd Gaming, despite comments to the contrary from the company’s CEO, an attorney said. Bwin.party is still awaiting approval from state gaming regulators after filing its application more than a year ago.
