(Macau).- The AGA and Reed Exhibitions will host Global Gaming Expo Asia May 21-23 at the Venetian Macau, bringing about 6,500 attendees and 150 exhibitors and brands together. The event will include a forum about the current developments in the Asia Pacific market as well as discussions on technology. Other notable parts of the expo are the iGaming and the Security & Surveillance pavilions.

(Macau).- SHFL Entertainment (Asia), a wholly owned subsidiary of US-based gaming supplier SHFL Entertainment, was scheduled to commence a trial hearing before the Court of First Instance in Macau this week, regarding the patent for its Rapid Baccarat product, the parent company said.

(Macau).- Melco Crown Entertainment is expecting to be given an extension by the government on the completion deadline for the entire City of Dreams project on Cotai. Melco Crown is still authorized to build an additional four-star apartment hotel at the site. But the company is looking to build one other five-star hotel tower instead.

(Korea).- According to the National Gambling Control Commission, illegal gambling in Korea has ballooned by more than 40 % from 2008 to us$ 66 billion last year. The surge partly stems from increased sports betting and gambling in private homes, the commission said.
