67% of US citizens oppose Internet gambling
(US).- A new poll finds most US citizens oppose Internet and half oppose sports betting, but many have gambled themselves at a casino. The Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind survey found two-thirds of those surveyed oppose changing the law to allow bets to be placed over the Internet, and 53 % oppose allowing bets on the outcome of professional or college sporting events.
Florida eyes more casinos
(US).- With gaming negotiations between the state and the Seminole Tribe still at an impasse, a committee of the House of Representatives is looking for an edge explored another option: full-scale "integrated destination" convention and resort casinos like those in Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
Argentina: Entre Rios province to enter in the online and phone betting business

Greece plans to deregulate slots

Plan to build Aqueduct Racetrack casino rejected
(US).- A partnership that includes Las Vegas-based Navegante Group was rejected Thursday by New York licensing authorities to build and operate a lucrative slot machine casino at the Aqueduct Racetrack. The move comes six weeks after the group won a contentious bidding process and was selected by Governor David Paterson.
Ireland could reap 8,000-job online casino windfall
