(UK).- Lottery chief Dianne Thompson has said that she feels confident of Camelot's bid to secure the new UK National Lottery licence and that their proposal could not have been better.

Speaking to the UK's Times newspaper, she also refuted claims that the lottery process was a foregone conclusion, saying that it was a 'fair fight', and added that they had big plans for the future of the lottery should they win. "I want people to open our bid document and say ‘wow'", Thompson said. "I know we couldn't have done better.”

Camelot so far faces competition from Australia's Tattersall's and Mumbai-based Sugal & Damani, which runs the Indian national lottery for the licence, although Greek lottery operator Intralot is thought to be interested.
