(Spain).- Azkoyen group signed an agreement with Catalonian company Cirsa to acquire its subsidiary Gaming Technology Distribution, in charge of the design and manufacturing of ways of payment for slots.

The main activity of the society acquired by the group, original from Navarra, is to manufacture the operation of coin selection and its grouping according to its value. A spokesman from the company, however, pointed that Azkoyen, a competitor in this field, will be a provider of the firm.

The other activity of Gaming Technology Distribution is to produce the reels of the machines in which symbols with winning combinations appear, which will not depend of Azkoyen and will be integrated to Cirsa industria division, one of the branches of the gaming group headed by Manuel Lao, together with casino division, bingos or interactive game, etc. .

The operation, in which Azkoyen has paid 3.9 million euros through its subsidiary Azkoyen on ways of payment, was performed on December 29th. The plant Gaming Technology Distribution, located in Terrasa, has among 15 and 20 employees. Azkoyen obtained a net profit of 6.53 million euros in the first nine months of 2006.
