(Panama).- Games of chance in Panama have contributed with us$ 30 million to the treasury in 2006. It called the attention of mega projects Trump Ocean Club, Faros de Panamá and Ice Tower, which already presented three applications before the Gambling Control Commission (JCJ) in order to set complete casinos.

Executive secretary of JCJ, Raúl Cortizo, commented that investors are consulting the preliminary location to see if it is feasible or not, and then present a formal application to obtain a contract with the nation.

Besides, Alfaro, president of the the Panamenian Association of Games of Chance Managers (ASAJA), said that the trade union does not oppose, as long as they comply with the requirements as experience, analysis of solvency, number of rooms, distance from schools, hospitals, etc.

He added that if an investor builds a 300-room hotel is because the gambling tourism is growing.
