Reberger will remain a consultant to the company for the rest of the year, Elixir said. He had held the post since last September. Elixir Gaming, which is searching for a new CFO, appointed Andy Tsui as vice president of finance. Tsui, who will be responsible for the company’s financial reporting, joins the company from Minerals Technologies Inc.

In addition, Tony Lam has been named head of operations. Lam, who joined Elixir Gaming in January 2008, has served as a senior executive with Hong Kong-based software, gaming and Internet service provider CDC Corp.

Also Wednesday, Elixir reported a wider second-quarter loss and said it is focused on improving the company’s daily take from each of its machines in operation in order to boost its return on investment.

Elixir shares dropped 37 cents, or 34.3 percent, to 71 cents in heavy afternoon trading, after touching a low of 67 cents earlier in the session. The stock is off 74.4 percent since the start of the year.
