“There is a strong demand for BMM certification services in Asia”

How did Asia respond to the services that you have to offer for this market?
BMM has been providing technical and regulatory compliance services to the gaming industry since 1981, so it was exciting to be able to bring our current range of services to G2E Asia in 2012. There is a strong demand for BMM certification services in the region and we continue to support all our clients to ensure their products are technically compliant. Many of our customers also took the opportunity to discuss the new Singapore and Macau technical standards with our technical compliance experts at this year’s show.
What is your opinion about the main Asian markets?
With the continued success and growth of Macau and Singapore, Asian markets have shown that the Gaming industry can grow and generate significant revenue by introducing well-regulated and administered gaming jurisdictions. Macau and Singapore have introduced their own comprehensive set of technical standards to manage their Gaming Technology evolution and we may see more of this as other emerging gaming markets in Asia look to replicate their success.
What are your next plans for this region?
Over the past several years BMM has built up a solid base of Asian manufacturer customers. We now provide gaming technology compliance testing services to most of the major manufacturers around Asia. We are also preparing to open a larger testing facility in Macau and will be recruiting additional technical staff to support the growth and demand in the region. As more regulated gaming markets emerge and the Asian gaming technology manufacturers broaden their market coverage, BMM will have a greater presence to continue providing full product certification to ensure that their products are compliant and available to the market.
What feeling did you close G2E Asia 2012 with?
The range and depth of gaming technology on display at G2E Asia this year was incredible. It's clear that Asian specific gaming innovation and style is at the forefront of the product offerings. My feeling is that the Asian gaming market is dynamic, vibrant and exciting and looks set to continue its growth. BMM is extremely pleased to be a part of it.
