Just one firm presented its offer to operate sportsbooks in Paraguay

Perez explained that Conajzar has until September 8th –although it may expand a week more, it means, September 15th- in order to solve, through a resolution, if it is the only bidder that complied with the total of the documents required.

Although the basic monthly fixed fee, that contained the bidding specifications, articles and conditions, was of us$ 82,352, in this case, the bidder, The Consortium Consorcio Gioco Movile SA y Asociados, proposed us$ 141,790, which is comprised in the “fixed monthly fee, plus a monthly percentage fee of 2% on net utilities declared.” The total amount for the 60 months of operation is us$ 8,507,990, according to the officer.

Patricia Marchewka, head of Conajzar, had informed that six companies had acquired the bidding specifications, articles and conditions to participate of the sportsbooks tender: Brainstorm SA, Chena Ventures, Lic. Víctor Otazú, Gioco Movile SA y Asociados, Townview Trading SA and Adecom. However, just one of them presented its documents.

The opening of envelopes for the operation of sportsbooks took place after almost four months from the first call to tender, which had been suspended last June by  the National Games of Chance Commission (Conajzar). The sportsbooks operation will be allowed in the country again, after almost 25 years, after La Polla game.
